The Aura Matte paint is basically a scrubbable flat finish, yet because of its superior durability, the matte finish can be used for painting doors and trim. The Aura Eggshell finish is a bit shinier than the Matte finish. The Aura Eggshell paint shows a dull sheen when looking along the side of a wall, but looks flat when looking directly at the wall. The Aura Eggshell is extremely durable and is best in bathrooms, kitchens and hallways, but can also be used in the living room, dining room, great room, playroom, nursery and bedrooms. It is also strong enough to use on doors and trim. Unless in a bathroom, the eggshell most likely would not be used on the ceiling. The Aura Satin finish is less shiny than the semi-gloss paint. It would most often be used on trim and doors when a more subtle sheen is desired. Some people also use the Satin on walls if they are in great condition (because the shine can highlight imperfections on the wall surfaces as the light reflects off the contours). Premium Interior Paints
The Regal products were Benjamin Moore's best until Aura came along. These Regal paints compare favorably to the premium paints of other brands.
