Window Covering Recall Doesn't Affect Any Hunter Douglas Products

Recently the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary "recall to repair" on roman shades and roll-up blinds to reduce the risk of strangulation to young children. News stories surrounding this recall have surfaced and you may have seen or heard about it. Hunter Douglas does not sell or offer roll-up blinds or shades that would have this safety issue. In fact, Hunter Douglas is the leading developer of child-safe Window Covering products.

The "recall to repair" announcement only covers traditional roman shades and roll-up blinds. These are products that have exposed cords down the back of the shade. The roll-up blinds covered by the "recall to repair" have a lifting loop of string around the fabric at the bottom of the shade. The safety concern is that this string can slide off the fabric and create a free-standing loop which can become a strangulation hazard.
