Solid insulated aluminum roof structure. Fully weatherproof. Pairs with motorized side screens for a four-season enclosed outdoor space. Designed and built by Breslow since 1924.
Where the R-Blade is about flexibility — louvers that open to sun and close to rain — the R-Shade insulated roof is about permanence. A solid, foam-core aluminum roof creates a fully waterproof outdoor room you can use in any weather, year-round.
The roof is the structural element. The sides are designed to be open or closed depending on what you need: pair the R-Shade with motorized zip-track side screens — solar, privacy, blackout, or clear vinyl panels — to take it from a covered patio in summer to a fully enclosed sun room in winter.
Heated, lit, and structurally rated to 176 mph in coastal-grade applications. This is the system we install when a client wants to extend their living space outdoors without losing it to the seasons.
Mix-and-match four different motorized screen types within the same R-Shade frame. Some clients run solar in summer and blackout in winter. Some run all four.
Blocks UV without blocking the view. Reduces glare and heat gain by up to 80% while keeping the outward sightline clear.
Daytime privacy without blocking light. Densely woven fabric — see out, can't see in. Common for ground-floor decks and pool houses.
Complete light and privacy block. Used for guest pavilions, evening dining areas, or when the sun-side wall needs full coverage.
Fully weatherproof clear panel. Combined with heating, this turns the R-Shade into a true four-season sunroom.
Solid roof, sealed connections, integrated drainage. Engineered to outlast everything around it.
Insulated solid roof panels. R-value 5+. Reduces noise during rain, eliminates condensation, improves climate control.
Standard rating 98 mph; coastal-grade option for FL and Hamptons installs rated to 176 mph. PE-stamped per state.
Roof slopes invisibly to integrated through-post drainage. No visible gutters or downspouts. Doesn't pool, doesn't ice over.
Sealed against wind infiltration. IP55 motor. Same Bond app and weather sensors as R-Blade — open at sunrise, close at dusk.
Hidden electric heaters, LED strip lighting, and audio cabling all routed through the structure. No conduit visible.
Code-compliant in every state we serve. Florida Building Code rated. NYC DOB acceptable for rooftop installations.
Flexibility. Rotate louvers from sun to closed-roof at the touch of a button. Best for clients who want to use the space across all four seasons but mostly during good weather.
Permanence. Total waterproofing. The space functions as an outdoor room you can heat, light, and use year-round regardless of weather.
